Even if Carnival period has just started one of the movies opening today in Italy is much more in line with Halloween...PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES incorporates in the romantic British literature classic an absolutely unexpected ingredient: a zombie horde looking for human brains!!

This successful mash-up is born by the "perverse" mind of the American writer Seth Grahame-Smith in 2009 when he had fun writing a parody of Jane Austen's masterpiece: instead of the alluded Napoleonic wars he included the fight for survival due to a terrible plague that transforms all  infected in walking dead. Needless to say the book became a fast bestseller and Hollywood bought the rights the make the movie.

Therefore our heroine Elizabeth Bennet and her four unmarried sisters don't have only to worry about showing off their feminine attributes to possible prospected husbands (better if rich), but they also have to pull off their Chinese martial arts training to cut off heads and limbs of fierce undead. On their path they will meet the proud Colonel Darcy, the handsome Mr. Bingly and the mysterious Wickham.

I know, I know you still are a little shocked for a having read in the same line Jane Austen and Zombies...I understand that, but I can assure you that this clever picture has the power, just like the book, to find the perfect match between an horror and a costume film giving life (or death) to a fun and captivating movie. Also, the tears for the Elizabeth and Darcy love misunderstandings won't be missed.

Just like Twilight, the plot finds a different diet to relieve the Zombies' hunger substituting to human brains the pig ones. Well, in the unfortunate (and perhaps not very probable) situation that we will be experiencing the same scenario I advice you to start practicing your cooking art!!
